Dawson Lodge requires dogs to be free of any contagious disease or condition and the following vaccinations or treatments must be done before check-in:

3-in-1 vaccination at least 10 days before check-in, valid for 12 months
Rabies vaccination at least 10 days before check-in, valid for 12 months
Snuffels vaccination / treatment at least 10 days before check-in, valid for 12 months
Flea, tick and deworm treatment at least 48 hours before check-in, valid for 3 months.
Dawson Lodge requires exotic pets to be free of any contagious disease or condition and any applicable vaccinations or treatments must be done before check-in.
Upon confirmation of your booking please supply your pet’s inoculation records.
You are welcome to visit your pet within our operating hours and upon prior notice/arrangement.
We have a separate entrance to the kennels on the property and we will only operate this gate within our operating hours.
If at the sole discretion of the owner of Dawson Lodge, your pet should become ill, we will call a veterinarian to attend to your pet or it will be taken to a Veterinary Hospital where it can receive the correct professional attention, at pet owner’s expense.
Please ensure you provide us with all necessary medical information as well as your veterinarians’ details.
We commit to giving your pet the very best care however should your pet fall ill, you will be contacted immediately, as will your vet. In the unlikely event of an emergency, your pet will be taken to the nearest veterinary practice.

Esther Wallis This is the only place where I feel comfortable to leave my fur baby. The kennels feel like a home away from home, with little cottages and a nice size grass yard to play in. My fur baby is always well looked after. I can highly recommend Dason Lodge 😁 Neville Taylor Very pet friendly and helpful staff that takes good care of their fur pets, highly recommended Tracy de beer our 3 dogs stayed for 2 weeks in June whilst we were in between homes and moving. staff- Sam seems to be the go to guy, Christy was welcoming. kennel- Big fenced off area, I requested heating as it was middle of winter, kennels are kept tidy- not sure how much interaction happens with the dogs in a day other than feeding. The rate per day is high, so I would expect some playtime/interaction and stimulation with the animals. I had to follow up regularly to find out if wet food was needed and not sure if my feeding instructions were followed. I have used Dawsons in the past over the years and felt that something had changed this time around. In the past I received regular updates and pics of my dogs and loved that, this time round had to ask a few times on how they were doing Was worried about the extreme cold and them being regular inside dogs, not used to be out) -I can't say exactly why it felt a bit off this visit- other than for the rate- the expectation for the stay should be 5 stars and I felt it was not.
